Clockwork Orange...turquoise, red and more!

My vintage clock died last month. It was such a sweetheart of a clock too--yellowish, with a faux bois display, and the cutest set of constantly flipping numbers. (Sigh)...the sadness...

But then I discovered "Clockwork Universe" on Etsy. This Latvian gem of a shop features a slew of vintage Russian alarm clocks, watches and other time-keeping goodies. Yup, I'm pretty sure my "new" vintage clock is in here somewhere...

Prints...and the new Revolution

I'm starting to amass quite the collection of art prints. And unfortunately, I'm running out of room to display them. As it stands right now, they're all stacked upright against the wall (a redneck art gallery, if you will). All are still in their little protective sleeves, complete with cardboard backing. And all are absolutely gorgeous.

Call me lazy, if you will, but I think this method of display suits me just fine. Who wants to look at the frame anyway?

Recycle This!

I'm an eco-conscious person, so whenever I need to package up an order (from my Etsy shop), the recycle bin is my first stop. There's a gaming shop down the street--they usually have a slew of small boxes. And every Monday, Trader Joe's is the box mecca. I usually hit them up around 10 or so, when they're re-stocking. That way I get the odd-sized ones...like the case boxes for Clif Bars--those are perfect!

I've already stockpiled a massive collection of recycled packaging materials too. Craigslist has been the best for that. Last week I totally scored! This couple had just moved to Seattle and had A TON of left over packaging. I swooped by and took it all. Probably won't need any of that until next year.

New is Old is New

Most of the time, when I hit the local Goodwill down the block, I find nothing but discarded IKEA leftovers.  Either that or loads of couches and desks (circa 1987), lots of broken (or on their way to being broken) cd players, and the occasional gem--used socks.

I'm not sure where The Sunday Times Market find their stuff, but the stuff they find is amazing.  Perhaps it's some sort of magic spell they cast upon thrift store merchandise--just before they walk in and find each and every vintage treasure to be had.  Maybe they're members of a secret society of estate and yard sale attendees--where only the most interesting, colorful, and charming vintage pieces are revealed.  Whatever the reason, they've got an incredible knack for finding the perfect item for that (fill in the blank) in your (fill in the blank).

So if you're still searching for that perfect item to add some charm and vintage appeal to your living room, bedroom, or kitchen--stop looking....The Sunday Times Market has already found it.
